Texas held the largest naturalization ceremony this week that the Lone Star State’s capital has ever seen. The ceremony was used to assault Donald Trump, the Second Amendment, and the death penalty before 1,210 new U.S. citizens and their families and friends. The Guest of Honor, Democrat Travis County Judge Sarah Eckhardt told the participants flanked by voter registration tables, “I encourage everyone to register to vote and hopefully, not for that guy who is against immigrants.”
The husband of one of the participants, Kyle Hood, told Breitbart Texas that he was offended that the ceremony was used by the county judge from Austin to advance a political agenda. Hood says he has no particular allegiance to any political party, but thought the event should not have been used to tell new citizens who to vote for president.
He added, “While I do not speak for immigrants, when she was saying that I was thinking the guy [Trump] she was talking about is not against immigrants, he is against illegal immigrants.” He said he thought that most of those sworn in that day would feel the same way, that these newly naturalized citizens were for legal immigration. He was so taken-back at the time she made the comment, he actually wrote it down.
Hood told Breitbart Texas, “I have a problem with her using her title and position to make what I thought was particularly political comments to a captive audience.”

I did a job for a church last year and got to know the janitor.
He was from Mexico and he was just about to take his citizen pledge. He was as proud as anyone I have ever seen. He said it was expensive and took years but at least he didn’t have to hide. He had unkind words for the illegals.
Seems improper, using the stature of one’s office to influence new voters in that way .
don’t know what that 1924-1965 thing is all about. my own mother showed up at Ellis Island in 1928, went back in 1932 and came back again two years later. I do think that immigration during that time frame was open fairly exclusively to western European folks. courtesy of the drunk and swimmer Ted Kennedy (Drunk-Jack Daniels) Congress closed immigration to western Europeans and opened it to all that we see today.

My neighbor has been a citizen for 15 years...He’s from Mexico...he hasn’t said one good word about the illegals....
Not too many liberals in my town, most of it is farmer, ranchers and military. But a lot of them have moved into conservative Midland because of the oil. A lot of businesses are escaping CA taxes and relocating here and relocating some of their people here. Hopefully they will appreciate lower taxes and regulation and not try to change it.

I think what caused a lot of democrats to switch was the moral breakdown of their party. They were social conservatives.
You guys should REMIND them to not ruin your state by voting like the people in the state they left!!!

In some arts of downtown Austin you are reminded how much of a liberal hell hole it has become. You can smell pot being smoked for blocks and the cops do absolutely nothing about it. Probably because they’re high too.

One time a black congresswoman from the bronx said there should NEVER be a fee for intraborough bridges. Someone told her about the 15 (at the time) dollar toll for the Verrazno, connecting Brooklyn and SI. She said nothing.
Another time a black congresswomn from the bronx insulted a new representative quite badly, and when asked why, she said “I didn’t know she was Spanish, I thought she was Italian”
