This heat has been oppressive everywhere. I have seven Leyland Cypress trees that look like they could go up in flames any minute. Grass crunches when I walk across the lawn. The little watering that I feel like I can afford is devoted to my tomato garden. They started coming in last week and are absolutely delicious. We'll slice some for our Fourth of July burgers on the grill.
