I have had success in getting my sick cats to eat with Gerber baby food (in the jars). It smells revolting to me but they smell it and start eating.

Diced rotisserie chicken from the grocery store works too. Not that I would ever buy just that for a cat, you understand. No way. Unh-unh.

The vet might be able to prescribe an appetite stimulant if need be.

I wish you all the best. Cats are wonderful companions and when they become sick we feel so helpless and awful. I will say a prayer for your kitty tonight.

My cat, who lived to be 21, almost died from kennel cough and would not eat at all...so I tried whipped cream, and that brought her back for another couple decades!

We are using baby food chicken right now. But we mix it with water and squirt it with an old syringe into her mouth. She isn’t taking anything voluntarily. Also she is drooling. :(

Oh, thanks, Lost, forgot to say that one of the meds the doc mixed for us into one liquid is that appetite enhancer. Also the anti nausea and an antibiotic.
