Just an observation, very few shows mentioned are from recent years.

I don’t know if Free Republic people skew older, or whatever age, just don’t like today’s TV shows that much, but most of shows mentioned are from decades ago.

Personally, I do skew a bit older, just turned 60. And also don’t watch much current TV because so much of TV today is pushing the liberal agenda. Also, in my opinion, many shows today just don’t seem as well written or intelligently written as the shows of yesteryear.

Agreed and good observations I think. I feel pretty much exactly the same way.

We generally watch sports, certain movies, certain game shows like Jeopardy and Who Wants to be a Millionaire, and old reruns of $25,000 Pyramid, and Gunsmoke.

Might be that over time the not-so-great TV shows of the past drift off to obscurity (e.g. "My Mother the Car", "Galactica 1980") while the good ones from the past continue to air on TV.
