Four off-duty Minneapolis police officers working the Minnesota Lynx game at Target Center on Saturday night walked off the job after the players held a news conference denouncing racial profiling, then wore Black Lives Matter pregame warm-up jerseys.
Lt. Bob Kroll, president of the Minneapolis Police Federation, the union that represents rank-and-file officers, praised them for quitting. "I commend them for it," he said.
Kroll said the four officers also removed themselves from a list of officers working future games. He did not know who the officers were. "Others said they heard about it and they were not going to work Lynx games," he said.
Asked if other officers will fill in for those who quit, Kroll said, "If [the players] are going to keep their stance, all officers may refuse to work there."

Thing is, they’re a great team that plays well together and wins a majority of their games.
Somebody got to them and told them to be “leaders” in the community.
And they all bought into it and stepped on their d.. uh well some of them did.
When will under represented ethnic groups be represented in the WNBA? <<<
See how this works?....../s
Exactly, I am surprised more cops aren't following this action.
Getting a double post with the same time stamp is an impressive achievement. Well done!
Thought I’d ask here.
Is “BLM” only anti police or is it also anti white people?
Bravo for the police walking out.
The BLM people should be able to take care of themselves.
I didn’t even notice. I guess I could try for a triple tomorrow. /h
You know, I’ve been wondering where the police unions have been in all of this. Those who donate money and election support to the Dems are watching their guys getting beat up by the Dems’ current favorite children, BLM. That’s going to leave some pretty hard feelings.
The answer is so simple. STOP patrolling these neighborhoods AND responding to calls.
Just put extra police at the outskirts of these areas in case they decide to destroy a town that is worth more than 2 cents.
####, we’re paying for the cops, these lazy welfare ####s aren’t.
And they all bought into it and stepped on their d.. uh well some of them did. <<<<<
“Somebody” should be...fill in the blanks....lol
BoweL Movement is anti-white currently masquerading as just anti-police. They’re as racist (I’m so sick of that word) as it gets.
I’m waiting for one police chief to get fed up enough to tell these communities to FO. Hate us? Patrol your own damn streets, our cops’ lives aren’t worth this.
“Is BLM only anti police or is it also anti white people?”
Yes.
I thought WE, the people made these decisions. How about special vote on whether or not to have police in these neighborhoods?
Would be interesting to see how Blacky votes.
They knew exactly what they were doing. I don’t think anybody “got to them”. I think the players who wore the BLM pre-game warm-up jerseys are racists and/or hate cops. There’ve been several other incidents in recent years where professional athletes have sided with thugs over cops.
Athletes would be smart to keep politics out of their games. No doubt the Lynx will lose some attendees in the future.
Paging Cleveland police...please pick up the white phone. Follow Minneapolis’ lead and boycott Browns games until they cut Isaiah Crowell. Also, the GYNBA exists only as a tax write off for the NBA.
They could maybe get the Black Panthers - that would be sure to draw a huge attendance. /s/
