Yeah, the skin sensitivities aren’t fun. I do tan a little in the summer to golden.....but that’t it. Have to ne careful as I burn easily.
I was pretty rare as a redhead as I have hazel-brown eyes (I guess my Cherokee blood). Was constantly asked when growing up if I died my hair. Friends use to say, “OMG, your eyes are the same color as your hair.”
Pardon my typos. Typing w/o readers....again.
I have a tiny amount of Cherokee too. My great grandmother’s hair was coarse black, and straight. I know this because I have a lock of it. No way was she 100% Caucasian. On another branch the line goes back to Rachel, Cherokee princess sometime in the 18th century. These were the “white” cherokee who married into the European settlers in Virginia, Tennessee, and Kentucky.
I walk outside for two minutes and I get a tan.
Rarely a sunburn.
I’m always Tan. George Hamilton tan.
Virtually everywhere I go people will ask me “How did you get so tanned?”
I have to tell them that I don’t “Lay out”, I just tan very easy.
I think, they think, that I’m trying to be tanned out of vanity or something.
It’s a curse I tell you.
My red hair/green eyes/freckles came from my Welsh kin.
My skin is a weird “gold” color that never burns.
I just go a darker gold.
No idea if that exempts me, or not.
