“Between innings. It worked out well just how crazy it was,” Strawberry added. “It kind of worked out that way. You point (a woman) out and tell the kid (to go get her).”

By “the kid,” Strawberry means a clubhouse attendant. In his Sirius XM interview, Strawberry also talked about drinking in the clubhouse and smoking cigarettes in the dugout. Oh, to be a baseball player in the ’80s.

Strawberry spoke at a church men's dinner I attended a few months ago. He was very open about the way he lived in his past. He spoke of finding Jesus and being saved. He seemed genuine and repentant. Afterwards he stayed and spoke with anyone who approached him, about whatever they brought up. To me, he came across as genuine, decent and a Godly man. He admits that he was out of control for a lot of years and credits Jesus Christ with saving his life.

I thank God that he has forgiven me for my past.

The 1986 New York Mets won one World Series title. I don't think any team has ever won more in a single year.

Of course Boston would have won the series except for a famous missed ground ball.

It is to me. What kind of manager would put up with such nonsense? This is the team’s image here. Not some playboy’s.

I can remember reading somewhere about that that 1986 New York Mets team should have won one or even two more World Series titles but ones Strawberry and Dwight Gooden basically pissed all of that away with their booze and drugs.

Strawberry and Gooden should have been HOFers but they pissed their careers away with booze and drugs.
