I my opinion, Pence helps to bring balance of temperment and delivery style to the ticket. Standing alone, Pence is not distinctive in any way, or individually inspiring enough to carry a top spot. He has ‘supporting actor’ written all over him, a quality we need right now, but only in relation to Trump, the standard bearer. That could change. Some people grow to fit the moment, as did W after 9/11. Few predicted that.
