Thorny issues like separation of church and state and the privacy rights of individuals were defensible on both sides. And back then we were not aware that the words "privacy rights" and "women's health" would literally translate into "kill the baby".

Donald Trumps proposed policies, if carried out, would trigger a constitutional crisis, ACLU Executive Director Anthony D. Romero wrote Wednesday in the Washington Post.
Where in the world have they been during obama's entire presidency?

When Griswold versus Connecticut came down in 1965 declaring unconstitutional a Connecticut state law prohibiting the sale of contraceptives, I approved of the decision even though as a matter of states rights it distressed me. But you must understand that at that time states rights was a phrase reserved for racial bigotry and it was entirely out of favor.
Besides what red-blooded lad in his 20s would oppose anything that made sex consequence free?
More, I wasn't clever enough to catch on to what the left was up to which was to lay the predicate for Roe versus Wade as a privacy matter.
It now seems clear that Roe versus Wade was not an unintended consequence of Griswold versus Connecticut but in every sense a fully intended consequence.

The constitution has been totally ignored these past 7 plus years.

Good. Trying this will bankrupt them in short order. They will never have enough libs to finance an attack on Trump and the Federal Government.

Good point. Perhaps I was recalling when even liberals had a sense of constitutional boundaries, and at least nominally subscribed to the fundamental underpinnings of our nation. Many leftists of 50 years ago were more aligned to freedom and liberty than the RINOs and "moderates" of today.
Even Khruschev himself wouldn't be able to stomach some of the positions taken by modern leftists.

ACLU....promises to keep a running tally of all Trumps policy goals that run afoul of the Constitution....Should read:"The ACLU has NOT kept a running tally of Barack Hussein Obama's Policy Goals that run afoul of the Constitution over a 7 1/2 year period; As of 2014, the SCOTUS has ruled against Obama 13 times as of June 26, 2014".This doesn't include the latest rulings in the last 2 years either.

You still all butt-hurt over Trump's pseudo-defense of PP? Wow. Just wow. You poor little thing.
Tell me... in your vapid estimation, is that reason enough to flush the entire Nation and the millions of gallons of spilled American blood drained in the creating and keeping of the world's only bastion of Freedom down the toilet?
Let's try to focus on the big picture, n'kay? There's a petulant cyrhonimulant.
