Paul Manafort Weakly Denies Any Charges of Melania Trump Plagiarism: ‘There’s No Cribbing’
CNN via Youtube ^ | July 19, 2016

Posted on 07/19/2016 5:41:22 AM PDT by Pinkbell

I transcribed the relevant part of the interview.

CUOMO: Who takes the fall for cribbing Michelle Obama's speech in 2008? Whose fault is that?

MANAFORT: Well, there's no cribbing of Michelle Obama's speech. These were common words and values that she cares about her family, that uh, that things like that. I mean, she was speaking in front of 35 million people last night - she knew that. I mean, to think that she would be cribbing Michelle Obama's words is crazy. I mean it's so, I mean once again, an example of a when a woman threatens Hillary Clinton how she seeks out to demean her and take her down. It's not going to work.

CUOMO: All I'm saying is the language is strikingly similar. I'm not making a big deal of it; I know everybody is talking about it this morning, but I don't think it's an allegation, it's not some suggestion without proof. I don't know why the campaign doesn't just own it and say people borrow phrases, that's what happened, and movie on? That's what, ironically, Obama did in 2008 when Clinton said he cribbed from Deval Patrick. He said, "Yeah, you're right, I did it."

MANAFORT: No, no he did do it. That's correct. But in this particular case, you know, there was a process certainly of collaboration that.. Certainly there's no feeling on her part that she did it. You know, what she did was use words that are common words, and to expect her to, to think that she would do something like that knowing how scrutinized her speech was going to be last night, is just really absurd.

CUOMO: Right, but again, that's assuming that it was Melania. I'm assuming that there were writers involved, but if that's the way you want to explain it, that's up to you. Let me ask you about something else.

Are you contending that someone who purposely set out to hurt Melania and Trump should have their act ignored and it be treated as “meh”? And let them continue on in their job?

I didn’t see all the speeches, but hers was excellent. Don’t forget, though, the people who lost their children to illegal immigrants or the marines who fought in Benghazi.

Um, that was a joke. There is no such thing as a plagiarizer.

Now go relax and forget all about this. And remember: Cruz is not going to be president.

A lot of you still let the MSM lead you around by the nose. So many comments being made on the MSM speechgate. For the last year the MSM + GOPe have attacked Trump full force yet he still won with record numbers.

So I ask you – Who is listening to these shills??

The speeches last night were fantastic. The energy is through the roof. Yet many of you prefer to waddle with the 40% of mindless drones who still allow themselves to be manipulated by the MSM.

ps – The one’s who take the most offense at what I just said are likely the one’s most guilty of being manipulated by the MSM. Think about it.

Nobody will even remember this after tonight’s speeches... when the liberal media invents another “controversy” to talk about all day tomorrow

Melania wouldn’t have done it. The speech writer would have.

The structure is what is most questionable. The words do not match up 100%.

But to me it is no big deal. Doesn’t change how I feel about voting for Donald J. Trump. He will become our 45th President.

To me only the last small section is even close. Otherwise it’s general words everyone uses.

You want a hint? Follow the Twitter feeds of the reporters covering Trump. They are a close bunch (as traveling around together will make you) and all follow and retweet each other. These are reporters for major networks. Some can not hide their disdain for Trump. Some post negative articles about him and are often “correcting” him and snarking on him. I have tracked down some of the Hillary reporters, and the Hillary reporters are not like that. They seem to just post basic facts about Hillary for the most part, although I don’t follow them closely. They just tweet whatever she says or does and move on. However, the Hillary reporters will also post things critical of Trump. What does that tell you?

Since 1801 the motto of the London Stock Exchange has been “dictum meum pactum” which is Latin for “My word is my bond”. The American actor Melvyn Douglas who died in 1981 said “Your word is your bond”.

It appears that Michelle did some plagiarism of her own and if you believe that then Melania hijacked a thief. This old saw has been around for 200 plus years.

Melania wouldn’t have done it. The speech writer would have.

Of course.

We may have heard the last lengthy political speech ever given by Melania Trump, which probably suits her just fine.

Our loss.

I don’t think Michelle is ugly. I do think Oprah’s people sabotaged her badly in the early days so I kind of wonder about that relationship.

There is definitely something offkey about getting into an elite college and then complaining about how racist “they” are.

Already had. Wondered where you were getting all this inside information so soon. Wondered if you are this Jarrett Hill person or pseudonym.

It’s plain that the writer drew heavily on Obama’s speech. To deny it is silly.

Or they both drew on a speech delivered by someone else at some point in time from the past.
