I am the same way. Let me see the bill, and I may pay it. You have to demonstrate to me that it’s not because you are buying a lot of things that you don’t need.

As the pastor, I almost always get permission for the church board. I personally asked the board for permission to spend $200 a month strictly on church related items. If I go above that, or want to spend money to help others I need permission. I personally asked for this policy in order to maintain honesty.

For the record, I am employed full-time in the telecomm industry, and don’t yet get paid a single penny by the church.

Unless she owns a huge building, do you know HOW LONG a regular apartment/house has to use water to add up to that amount? Water is about $30 every two months, CHEAP. She should have been cut off long before her bill got to that amount.Cox cable, months+ pay per view charges. They cut off quick too. Who pays 7 grand car payments without repo?

Local church secretary jailed for stealing more than $30,000

BARTLETT, TX(KXXV) - A church secretary was arrested Wednesday afternoon after she was accused of stealing more than $30,000 from the Bartlett church she worked at.

 

Sherry Janke Kell, 47, has been charged with theft of over $30,000.

 

On Feb. 15, the Bell County Sheriff’s Dept. received a report from St. John’s Lutheran Church at 30650 Hwy 95 that a large amount of cash was missing.

 

Officials say the church had an audit completed and found that funds taken included ATM withdrawals, online payments for personal bills, and other unauthorized payments through payroll.

 

An investigation found that the church secretary, identified as Kell, was responsible for the transactions.

 

On Feb. 23, the case was presented to the Bell County District Attorney’s Office for review and they accepted a charge of theft over $30,000.

 

An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday, and she was arrested at her home Wednesday without incident. Her bond has been set at $25,000.
