Surveillance video from a Beijing animal park shows a woman getting out of a car in a Siberian tiger enclosure, where she was attacked by one of the animals. Her mother and husband are seen going after her.
According to The New York Times, the woman exited the vehicle because of an argument with her husband. Other news outlets claimed friends denied they were fighting.
The woman survived, but her mother died trying to save her. The husband was not hurt.
Her child, who remained in the car, was uninjured.
meals in a can.
+1.
I convinced a whole bunch of friends to go see that at a movie theater years ago, and they weren’t pleased with me for doing so. I think it was long and somewhat sedate for them, though I thought it was pretty good.
Interesting lions. Of a type (called Tsavo lions) that are bigger than lions in general, the males have no manes, are the hunters in the pride, and have high levels of aggressiveness (due to high testosterone levels measured)
Great. Just what we need.
Chinese tiger drill.
Nobody was hurt, but I remember laughing at the "...Hey...can they do that?" comment!
Don’t worry, Orchestra... the tiger will be hungry again in an hour :) (I know I am naughty)
How terrible, as soon as I saw the tiger I closed the window, how dreadful
It could come off like a Machiavellian plot!!
I just wonder how old the child was to have to deal with the memories of watching mom attacked and grandma killed by a tiger.
Yeah, he had to close the doors to protect the kid. You're right... absolutely brilliant!
Tiger will be hungry in less than an hour.
There ain’t no cure for stupid.
I can see it now,
Couldn’t get the wife to shut the hell up?
Took her for a date to Lion Country Safari.
Still wouldn’t shut the hell up, So I pushed her OUT.
She was sitting on some cat nip on the way there.
Have you ever seen that movie The Ghost and the Darkness?
= = = = =
I saw that for the first time last year... Not quite what I was expecting...
Does you know if the actual lions are as big as depicted in the film? They are monstrously huge...
lol.
we rescued a dog that was given up because he bit the MIL.
I said “that dog is Brilliant!!!” He came home with me the same day.
They were on display in Chicago a few decades ago. The lions were indeed big. Oddly the lions were male but lacked a mane.

Hard to imagine anyone thinking it long and sedate. I thought it was fascinating, keeping you on the edge of your seat. I really liked Val Kilmer in that role.

It couldn’t be any worse than watching grandma get run over by a reindeer.
