Yeah, you hit the nail on the head here. This isn’t a judge being nice, this is totally tampering with evidence.

A jury is NOT supposed to take previous crimes into account during a deliberation .. But if he starts seig-heiling in the court and blurting out racial comments a judge rarely asks the jury to strike such things.

And besides.. like I tell all tattoo aficionados... That shit is permanent. Act like it.

A rapidly-spreading trend among law enforcement agencies is the practice of wrapping a towel around all the arrestees' necks and shoulders for mugshot photos, because *some* have visible neck tattoos. Witnesses were looking for only the tattoo and were identifying the wrong person based on that.
