He didn’t like Elvis’s cover of Bridge Over Troubled Water. Elvis could out sing him even when he was in his prime.

Time to call it a day, Paul.

I read recently that he announced he would retire after his latest tour. I didn't see this performance, and I guess I won't. Its unfortunate that his voice is gone, but I also read that his tour contains new music from a new album. I have to respect that at 74 he is still creating new music. Most professional musicians seem to average about five albums. He did it for far longer than most.

MSM is already trying to bury all the turmoil, to suggest that “that was all in the past” (e.g., three-five hours ago), and that everything is now wonderful and full of CELEBRITIES!!! Look, we have CELEBRITIES!!!

I’ve heard Simon is a total asshole and egomaniac. He proved it tonight by needlessly “singing” Art Garfunkel’s signature “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and absolutely butchering it.

What happened to Paul Simon?

He reached his peak 30 years ago with Graceland and has been in descent ever since.

After hearing the comments here, I found a video and listened. It wasn’t quite as bad as I expected, but it wasn’t good: many local karaoke performers could have done much better. Rolling Stone, of course, gave it a rave review, but Rolling Stone has always had very poor judgment IMHO. Many of their “Top 100” and “Best Of” lists over the years have been simply embarrassing.

His song Graceland was about his split up with Carrie. One his best most heart wrenching songs.

I'm a musician also, and I don't have a tin ear. Simon hit the notes pretty well for a 74 year-old.

Putting political feelings aside which no one here seems to want to do....I enjoyed listening to him sing, it was quite pleasant and mellow.

One of SNL's best gags ... "Still crazy after all these years".

Sorry Paul but if last week and how this week has started is any indication, your political party and its convention are at the mercy of irresistible and elemental forces of nature and long overdue karma. Naturally, they put you on with your voice absolutely shot.

And those millennials they're counting on? They don't know your ass from Ella Fitzgerald. You might as well be Lawrence Welk.

60s drug songs all part of the conditioning for the cattle-cars named “healthcare.”

He looked like he had a hangover. I couldn’t stand more than about 30 seconds of his singing, and the crowd shots of the vapid grinning slackjaws rocking back and forth was more than I could take.

July 28, 1967 I saw my first concert.
It was at the Hollywood Bowl.
The headliner was the Loving Spoonful and their hit, Hot Town Summer in the City was the big hit.
The warm up group was Simon and Garfunkel. They got about ten standing ovations as they were very good at the time.
Guess that is what happens to ya when ya marry Princes Lea.
