Gun Violence (Letter to the editor)
Press Democrat ^ | 29 July 2016

Gun violence

EDITOR: Columbine and Sandy Hook parents remain numb with grief, as are the families and colleagues in San Bernardino. We weep for Charleston. Muslims are challenged to reclaim their religion.

All guns create terror. All gun violence is a hate crime.

Perhaps the leadership we desperately need will arise, yet again, from the gay community; this time, for gun control.

This is beyond retarded. Whenever I wonder how some people can vote they way they do, a letter appears in my local paper that lets me know just how ignorant people are. As though inanimate objects can create and act and homosexuals are non-violent; the height of ignorance.

Over 90% of black violent crimes committed with a gun is by other blacks. Is she saying that black on black gun crimes are hate crimes?

Maybe so, Micheline. Or maybe not...

Faggies allied with Muslims to take away our guns. Yeah, that’ll work.

I wouldn’t count on it since homosexuals are the fastest growing demographic for gun ownership. I am guessing that after Orlando they have decided that being victims kinda sucks.

is there anyone in society that needs firearms more than homosexuals?

I doubt it

indeed, the most vulnerable and most disliked people should make sure they are equipped to defend themselves the most

hopefully they may never have to. but they definitely are stupid to support more illegal “gun control laws”.... stupid!!!!! (or suicidal?)

If I were one of the six Sandy Hook dead adults and could have a do-over, I think I would preferred to have faced Adam Lanza with a gun of my own.

Yeah, a good guy with a gun may not prevail in every case, but without a good guy with a gun, it is absolutely guaranteed the bad guy will have his way.

Hell, I don’t know how many times I have to clue people into the root cause of the black on black murders in this country. I wait and wait for one word, one scintillation of thought about the elephant in the room. The root cause is the drug trafficking industry coming into the United States and the level of consumption that goes on in every corner of our society. The collateral damage that the epidemic of drug consumption causes is totally ignored. These drugs—cocaine, heroine and meth—are not mom’s pot-laced brownies. The chemicals in these three drug catagories are toxic to the human body and devastating to the brain. There is good reason for them to be illegal. They are life shortening, mind altering toxic chemicals. What they do to the human body makes tobacco’s cancer causing effects a light weight. This is the big elephant in the room. It is the elephant that is ignored because it is big money. It is a big money machine that cannot be spoiled by any focus on the real problem: The effects of illegal drugs on human beings.

What these toxic chemicals do to society is an enterprise that drives men out of the family for the purposes of making huge, untaxed incomes trafficking. Their habit forming mechanism captures the consumer into a system that turns them into victims of social parasites. It is a killing machine in many ways.

To maximize their market, the drug traffickers kill the competition—with guns. To minimize their capture by the legal system, they pay off the politicians with drugs and money and sexual favors. These same politicians deflect the attention from the elephant in the room by focusing on guns. Yep! That’s the ticket! That way the illegal drug industry goes on, lining their pockets while the law abiding citizen loses their gun rights and becomes easy pickings for the drug trafficker who wants to raise capital by robbing unarmed citizens of their possessions. That is, by the way, what Travon Martin was up to when George Zimmerman stopped him from casing homes for future robberies.

But by any measure, the War on Drugs is an abysmal failure. End it and you will end the reason for a large number of laws.

Compare it with mine, published last December:

Current New Jersey rules for the issue of a firearm carry permit require the applicant to prove a justifiable need.  Failing to do so is cause for denial.

If a law or regulation was passed requiring us to “show a need” to exercise other rights such as to speak freely, to worship as we please or to publish or broadcast our opinions we would be besieging the State House in Trenton for the redress of that grievance.  Yet to exercise the God given right recognized in the second amendment we are required to prove a need.  What is it about “shall not be infringed” the state fails to understand?

The first part of the amendment recognizes the need for and desirability of a citizen militia.  It contains nothing that limits the right to the militia.  Nor does it preclude the insane or freed felons from the right to keep and bear arms.  Anyone who cannot be trusted to be armed should not be running around loose.  Criminal control aces gun control every time it’s tried!

Why would a government want its citizens (subjects?) disarmed?  One reason only: to be able to do things to them that they would resist if they had the means to fight back.

Examples abound of gun control leading to extermination of dissidents and minorities, in many cases by the millions. Do you think that our own liberals-socialists-progressives-communists-Marxists will behave any better than their predecessors when WE are disarmed?
