Thought police.
I have a friend whose wi-fi SSID is “FBI Surveillance Van”...so what?
“emergency white flashers “
LOL. You saw a vehicle from the Dept of Posers, Kooks, and Nutters.
Yes it worked. It caused you to lose your mental faculties momentarily so you wouldn’t grab your camera and start filming. To be used in the near future by all police officers when confronting a suspect in the field so any bystanders will also forget to grab their cameras and start filming.
I knew a guy a couple of decades ago that actually built something like this. I’ll bet its a private party having fun with a welder, some LED lights and a paint gun.
My cousin lives in Lutz. Maybe it was him. I’ll ask. :-)
Cannot find any reference to the vehicle signage you reported.
Here’s a site that provides various gov’t vehicle photos.

You didn’t mention whether it has US gov’t or state gov’t plates?
Is there a DoD weapons vehicle manufacturer in your area?
Did the vehicle have and notable dishes, attached apparatus, ie: LRAD, ADS, MEDUSA?

Have you tried calling the town or state police public safety dept to inquire about this?
Confirm you are not pulling our leg - okay..
RE: “I am a bit freaked out. It was clearly marked with flashing lights so it’s not something they are trying to hide from the public. Is this some kind of joke? It wasn’t funny.”
Was there music coming from the van...Pop Goes The Weasel, maybe? Were there kids on bikes following him, screaming for him to stop?
Can you please tell my cousin to give back the keys when he’s done?
There is a very official looking dark green Jeep Wrangler near me that has official looking decals that read Zombie Interdiction Unit. Should I be nervous?
Ben Marco: [being brainwashed over the phone] Yes, senator?
Eleanor Shaw: Is this Captain Marco?
Ben Marco: Yep.
Eleanor Shaw: Captain Bennet Marco?
Ben Marco: Yes.
Eleanor Shaw: Bennet Ezikiel Marco?
Ben Marco: ...yes.
Eleanor Shaw: ...Listen.
That’s Option K38 on the Chevy Suburban. Runs about $4,000 dealer installed.
Usually I’d say it was a teenager-centric novelty sticker designed to shock but you said TAMPA:
Sent into cities, tanks and LAV’s often get blown up in close quarters. The anti-missile defenses of tanks usually imperil infantry supporting those same tanks:
How do you bring firepower into insurgent cities without incurring a lot of casualties in the future..?
automated vehicles, which then must have mapping and software enabling them to operate.
It would make sense for military researchers to use ACTUAL cities.
So....I can’t say what you say was not real, especially in that area.
Anyone who said such research poses an immediate threat to YOU I’d say is...Alex Jones.
Lula, FR asks for donations to keep it going. The wise guys on here aren’t helping that effort. I am glad at least one person was kind enough to give you a kind and serious response.
Movie being shot nearby? Doesn’t sound like authentic gov vehicle.
