Donald Trump: "We're Having a Problem"
Yahoo Politics ^ | 8/16 | Josh Lederman

Posted on 08/16/2016 5:34:51 AM PDT by TangledUpInBlue

In a rare show of humility by the boastful billionaire, Donald Trump is acknowledging his presidential campaign faces challenges and could ultimately fall short.

The Republican presidential nominee is straying from his signature bravado as he campaigns in the battleground state of Florida, even telling a gathering of evangelical ministers Thursday he's "having a tremendous problem in Utah." The same day, the reality show star acknowledged his lack of political correctness could cost him the election if Americans reject his blunt approach.

"We're having a problem," Trump told the ministers, adding the next president could get to nominate up to five high-court justices. "It could cost us the Supreme Court."

"....I recommend not watching the news, especially since it’s not news."

Exactly what I've done for months now. I picked Trump last summer as my guy and have stuck with him through all the attacks on him and will vote for him in November.

But watching cable news and expecting something other than the Leftist agenda and propaganda being carried out by the media, is about as worthless as expecting HiLIARy to tell the truth. It just ain't going to happen.

I've learned over the years that if the media and liberals (and now the GOP crybaby snobs) are hammering a candidate hard, then I know that's the guy I want to support. Catching so much flak is definitely an indication that Trump is right over the target.

The Mormons are for one thing-MONEY.

They want illegal immigrants to continue to come into the country to cut wages so they can keep their slave labor. They are for one thing-MONEY.

Mormon's don't preach politics from the pulpit at all. Political endorsements are never given. The Churches leadership has given only one directive, to prayerfully vote your conscience. That's all.

You live in Utah? I do. I attended the caucus. Several of the church leadership stood up and flatly stated that those who supported Kasich should switch their vote to Cruz to stop Trump. They weren't even subtle. Knowing how the church hierarchy functions, I seriously doubt this was a case of a couple of "loose cannons." It was like listening to the MSM. People in positions of authority had clearly been given their talking points. And when the precinct chair turns the caucus over to a couple of the bishops to run the meeting, well that's not interfering, is it? I won't get into the vote fraud that occurred. Saw that, too.

For those of you unfamiliar with Mormon theology, they don't believe "the just shall walk by faith." They believe the just walk by obedience.

You'd be far better off making your standard to vote for the most redemptive thing.

If you can't vote for Trump, vote for Pence.

I agree. And probably what I will do.

I agree. If Donald Trump cannot defeat a boozy old crook like Hillary Clinton then this country is ready for a cleansing revolution.

That said, if I were Trump's campaign I would release, each and every day, a list of what the left and the press said I said, and then follow that with what I actually said, and what that meant. I would make it widely available, online and everywhere, and emphasize to everyone that this is where to find the truth and reality - and that the media are welcome to try to refute that truth, but won't be able to.

Problem is they don't have the staff and the foresight to do just that.

“I blame mormons.”

I’ll put them on my list.

It seems like for an election where you try to get people to vote for you, we sure have a long list of people and groups who we’re supposed to insult. I don’t think that’s the way you’re supposed to get people to vote for you.

Your whole post was just a load of crap.

Several of the church leadership stood up and flatly stated that those who supported Kasich should switch their vote to Cruz to stop Trump.

First, that's a caucus, it's a political event. People say political things at political events. Go figure.

Second, a Bishop is not "Church" leadership. They have regular jobs like everyone else and lead a local congregation on Sundays. They can't speak for the Church.

Third, And when the precinct chair turns the caucus over to a couple of the bishops to run the meeting,

I mean...really?? How did you know they were Bishops? They don't wear little pink beannies like the Catholics...

For those of you unfamiliar with Mormon theology, they don't believe "the just shall walk by faith." They believe the just walk by obedience.

Walk by Faith Gordon B. Hinckley, President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Typical anti-Mormon post, full outright lies, half truths, and innuendo.

Don’t bother to “get up in the AM, and look at the news to
see “what did Trump say now”. The MEDIA is in the tank for
Hitler-y and work morning to morning concocting any story
they think will hurt TRUMP.

Their “power” is waning; and they don’t like it.

“Problem is they don’t have the staff and the foresight to do just that.”

Doesn’t take much staff to do this. Don’t know about the foresight, but it would be disturbing if they didn’t have people in the campaign who wouldn’t see things like this as necessary. They also need to start the “Hillary lie list”, a “Hillary incompetence list”, and a “Hillary lack of ethics” list. All three, and keep adding to them. It would be so easy for Trump to announce at his rallies, and on TV “Folks, go to these sites (just go to one, they’re all interlinked) and see the truth about who Hillary Clinton really is. If you can prove any of what is on there is not factual, you will be awarded $10,000.00.” This will bring many to these sites, and will bypass the media. If done right, no one will be collecting that $10,000, and this in and of itself will be a great campaign issue.

I'm a Mormon. What orders are you talking about?

The orders referenced by Zathras in reply #13, to which my response was directed.

I’ll tell ya mildly because I’m on FR probation, I am voting for Trump for one reason only and it is that hopefully he’ll appoint young Conservatives to the Supreme Court which swing the court right for a long time to come. Outside of that I’m not a fan of Trump.

Having said that, this is my message to Mormans - 4 years ago Trump backed your guy and let me ask you being Christians and all, can’t you too return the favor and vote Trump.

Let me add, Trump backed Romney far more than Cruz is backing him, and I’m a Texan Cruzer.

My message to Christians is this, if you allow a Supreme Court to go extreme left, your church will be forced by law to perform gay marriage. If you can’t find it in your heart to vote Trump over a leftist SC then you can GF yourself.
opps sory

Hope I’m not flagged for this post.

"I don’t think that’s the way you’re supposed to get people to vote for you." The facts appear to demonstrate they will do what their leadership demands, even when it will destroy the country. They do not value thinking independently. They accept what they are told based on feelings.

We can't be honest about the candidates? Are you a fragile little snow flake that needs a safe space?

Btw, "GTHO" isn't the best way to get someone to agree with you...
