#RioSucks. Lochte paying the price for embarrassing Brazil and confirming what a hell hole it is.

“found ‘little evidence’ that it had taken place”

So said the investigating officer, Sgt. Schultz.

If they seize his passport, he and his two friends go to the U.S. Consulate and report it stolen. That’s the truth. They will issue him a new one within one business day with payment of the proper fees.

1. They were drunk - this is why they don’t remember much
2. 10:1 odds the taxi driver was in on the robbery
3. Lochte - get the heck out of there. Find a motorboat to get to one of the cruise ships housing the upper crust.

Why anyone would go to a 3rd world country for any reason is beyond me.

Lochte claims that he and three of his team-mates were robbed at gunpoint in a taxi...So all four of them are lying? To what purpose?

And just WTH would they scheme up a tale about being robbed? What could they gain from such a trick?? Rio is a pit.

Seizing the passports of the athletes. That’s what the Olympics is all about.

Here’s a scenario I am just speclating
He goes to the naughty parts of town, gets his wallet lifted by a hooker, decides he wants to report it as a robbery by gunpoint.
Who wants to put money on this?

So Brazil’s response to a reported robbery is to attack the victims and prevent them from leaving the country. What a country!

And order has been made to seize American swimmer Ryan Lochte's passport by Brazilian authorities after claims he 'lied about being robbed.'
If Rio and Brazil want to make an already embarrassing Olympics into an even bigger fiasco, there are few ways to accomplish it more effectively than to publicly harass a famous Olympic athlete who has already been victimized at the Games. I find it difficult to believe Brazilian authorities are this stupid.
To: Mr. K
Probably closer to the truth than simply having been robbed at gunpoint.

Only problem with that scenario is the police allegedly reviewed the metal detector tapes at the entrance of the Olympic village, and determined that Lochte had his wallet and watch.
If that is true (and I am skeptical), Lochte and friends made it back to the village with all their possessions that night. So no need to make up a story to cover for something embarrassing. But really - no reason to make up a story at all.

I think the line between Brazilian authorities and street gangs is very blurry.

MAYBE, but there were 4 of them. ?? Doesn’t seem like they could all hold up to the lie for very long, IMHO.

Even though their President is under indictment for fraud, she is still the dictator in charge. By the way her fraud pales in comparison to Hitlery’s.

When the water turned green and smelled like farts in an Olympic pool people wondered if this was the “turd world.” Brazilian police proved it was not an anomaly.
