To accelerate its e-commerce business and narrow the widening gap with rival Amazon.com, Walmart recently paid more than $3 billion to acquire internet retailer Jet.com, the highest price ever for an online startup.

I did not know this. I really wasn't sure Jet would survive they were losing money hand over fist to try to get a Customer base. They don’ have near the selection like Amazon, but I'm all for giving far Lefty Bezos a run for his money. I bought a replacement Roku from Jet earlier this year. With the discount code they sent me I saved about $12 over Amazons price. Interestingly enough fulfillment was actually from Toys are Us.
