In response to your post about exploring a move to Spain.

I've considered a move myself. How difficult is it for an American with no familial ties to Spain to actually move there? I'd like to retire when Jr. is out of college and enjoy the Golden Years.

it isn't difficult at all. It is encouraged by Spanish authorities. ($$$$) I think you just need to renew your visa every six months. Follow all the laws and be a good citizen with regard to immigration and they absolutely leave you in peace. It is safe, the dollar goes a long way and the weather is gorgeous.
