A gun buyback event at two Minneapolis fire stations has been so popular Saturday that both stations are now closed.
The city teamed up with Pillsbury United Communities for the gun buyback event.
The event began at 10 a.m. Saturday and was supposed to run until 6 p.m. at Stations 14 and 17 in Minneapolis, but the Visa gift cards that were being handed out in exchange for the guns have run out.
An estimated 150 guns were dropped off during the event, according to Minneapolis police.

From the videos that I saw, these were mostly old and inexpensive bolt action rifles. The first choice for gang bangers.
And, yet, the local police were gushing about getting these guns off of the street.
They were never on the street. Old crap dug out of closets for a gift card.
I saw a list of their prices and they were paying pretty good. It would have been easy to turn in a bunch of old junkers and make a lot of profit.
I know of a few gunshop owners that do exactly that.

one guy said he turned in 400 bucks worth of guns and got 800 bucks in visa cards.
Pawn shop owners love these buybacks - all the useless trashy guns that should be thrown in the garbage bought by do-gooders.

But are OK if the sellers are turning them in for VISA gift cards.
