Have you ever seen a real cat fight or a cat attacking a dog or something? They attack with deafening, blood curdling screams sharp claws and teeth bared, fur standing straight up on their backs.

Just the screams are usually enough to send the enemy heading for the hills.

Most likely the Pitts were scared and cowering. The tables were turned. This was not something that could not defend itself.

Yep, had a not fully grown cat stand down my dad's weimaraner that way. Dog was over to visit, saw the kitten and pursued into another room.

Kitten stopped, turned and went into full combat mode. Funny as hell seeing the much larger dog skid to a sudden stop, then turn and leave.
