It’s a square box inserted into a line of text?
I see it more and more. Perhaps my browser is old and can’t recreate certain symbols or test and just uses a square box.
Talisker suggested it may be used represent a sarcasm tag. Just curious.
It is likely an conversion issue from ANSI to ascii and back again. You post, it gets saved in a different format, it is read, converted back and displayed again. IMHO it is a minor bug in the FR software. Remember the back and forward quotes thing? Same deal. Will only happen with people who post with extremely seldom used characters or foreign language stuff like umlauts or Cyrillic text, etc. A whenever list fix IMHO.
This is probably being treated as a special character or emoticon by your browser. The more normal way to signal sarcasm on FR is with a \ then an s. It looks like this
\s
