Seems like Scott was banned from the Playboy mansion
As I recall. Scott was the overall champion.
No he is still alive.
Scott Baio gave a very heartfelt speech at the convention. I was very impressed.
Wasn’t his routine always delivered in a shouting scratchy voice? If so, then yes he was rarely funny, as well as, annoying to listen to. But then I funny modern day comics are usually more crude then funny.
As I sit in some lonely hotel room on Long Island (with okay WiFi at least) reading articles about Chachi Arcola I feel the cold realization that my life is a toilet come over me. But then I remember that I get to go home in a couple of days! Whew!
The other guy with a shouting, scratchy voice back then was the late Sam Kinison (see his cameo in "Back to School"). Now, Sam's material was a lot more in-your-face than Bobcat's, and it certainly wasn't for everyone - but he didn't do the neurotic, whiny/shouting mental patient stuff. He just bellowed. I miss Sam a lot - he was possibly the least politically-correct comic ever to make the big time.
I can't speak about Chachi, but I sure had a crush on Joanie:
Now this guy was funny. Too bad he passed too early.
You could see that on the televised version but on the playing fields of Pepperdine, it was not that apparent. Good for Scott. Athleticism is one thing, the desire to be the best another.
#12 Everyone liked the dunking event!
Heather Locklear, Jan Smithers, Erin Gray, Lynda Carter, Catherine Bach, Heather Thomas, Cheryl Ladd, Donna Dixon, just to name a few I remember. When women were women and men and women had fun on tv.
