Agreed.
That is part of the problem with the slow shift to female leaders in this show.
The MOM is an officious dope. She does not have the charisma or strength of character, wisdom, or situational awareness to be accepted as a leader.
Her actions at the bar (getting drunk, zero situational awareness), allowing her daughter to wander off and the entire lets light up the hotel sign showed she needs to be kept as far away from leadership as one could be.
I had not thought of it, but you are right. The black guy went form being the one chaps who had a clear head on his shoulder orbiting the MOM character, following her lead.
Completely unrealistic, considering his early character of being on the ball. Another example of how this series falls so badly, they fail to follow human nature.
If you’d like to check out another dopey show, watch “Aftermath” on Syfy channel... really trite characters in the middle of ‘the End days’..
but I DO love me some “Z Nation”...
Everyone seems to prefer TWD because there is a ridiculous redneck character that the Duck Dynasty, Doomsday Prepper watching plebs can identify with, and all the comic book characters the show is based on seem to have some inate tactical training. That is not reality. That is not character development. Character development is when you take real people, from ordinary situations and ordinary lives, and place them in an unbelievable situation like the zombie apocalypse, and try to reasonably extrapolate what they might actually do in the short and long term.
That is how this show is playing out, and it is doing a very good job.
You have to remember that the original TWD series is based on comic book characters.
I think this show is more realistic than Walking Dead. Walking Dead has too many silly COMIC BOOK characters they are trying to translate to live action. That doesn’t really work for me. And from the previews, it looks like they are bringing in even more comic characters this season. So far , FTWD has characters that are genuine, and based in real life.
I think more so it is what I described. Twd has less liberal, more middle country people that gave up whatever liberalism they had when the reality of what they were dealing with was apparent. Ftwd started with a liberal group, which freepers just would, not relate to as well, inherently, and we are watching how a more liberal bunch of people are attempting to go through te same situation. And they are notably doing it a lot more poorly.
Imdoubt this is what the writers have in mind, but the truth of how more conservative people handle a major crisis is vastly different than how more liberal people do. It is why most people here dont relate and like them as much as twd folks.
Remember many did complain about the old idealistic liberal guy that bought it on Herschels farm.
Ah yes, picture Murphy on FTWD as he tries to take over the world with zombie hordes.
Excellent Season ending. To all the naysayers who thought that Travis and Nick could never step up, they can’t deny things just got awesome.
Best shows of the entire series. They really stepped it up on these two.
and it is back tonight for 2 episodes 2hr 10 min
