The wind speed is unimportant ,, what’s important is the RELATIVE WIND and having a groundspeed of their norm+120mph shouldn’t be an issue ,, most of the hurricanes winds are steady to slightly gusty when at altitude ,, the birds will be fine if they are flying and catch a band that takes them over land... if they exit the storm over the atlantic they’re probably screwed.
