In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day". Dilatory

Adjective

    1. tending to delay or procrastinate; slow; tardy.
    2. intended to cause delay, gain time, or defer decision:
    a dilatory strategy.

Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Make me laugh, smile or otherwise entertain me and I might give out some extra +s.

What is a “no host” bar?

Where you pay for your own drinks. The “host” of the party provides snacks only, and each individual attending buys their own drinks vs. an “open bar” where the sponsoring organization pays the bill for everybody.

She was due back by now, so she is officially MIA....perhaps she had trouble with her flights. I sure hope she got to see the Blood Bath last night wherever she is.

Condemnation of the Clintons has been dilatory
Republicans are always too conciliatory
They tried messing with Trump
With a decade-old dump
His reply was a strike that was military

Funny how democrats who had no problem with the morality of JFK and his brother Ted, nor with that of the husband of their current nominee, now believe that Trump’s overheard locker room banter is grounds for disqualification. Apparently, to a democrat, harassing, raping, or even drowning a woman is acceptable behavior, just as long as the perpetrator is one of their own.

We’d call that a “cash bar.”

And the typical GOP elite are falling for it. The folks seem ready to say, wth, he didn’t rape anyone, let’s go with him.

The dilatory response—or rather, non response-— of the administration to repeated FOIA requests regarding their continued expenditure of taxpayer funds to build mosques overseas is designed to run out the clock until the end of the Obama Administration.

A somewhat dilatory measure:

Maybe after enough lawsuits they finally got the message.

I didn’t watch the debate-what is the deal with Melania’s blouse and rape questions from someone with the unfortunate name of Ken Bone?

The GOP elites have now gone
From self-serving to strange-
A dilatory brain storm might
Just signal a welcome change

From diving for cover behind
Some gutless RINO or another
Or underneath the nearest Bush
Even though they might smother

Anyone who looks like a threat
To tippytoes Jeb’s big schemes
For his “turn” living in the WH-
Even if it is only in his dreams...

Apparently the style of the blouse is called a “pussy bow.”

Was this a coincidence or a middle finger?

Probably a subtle flip off-I’m not familiar with that style of blouse, but I don’t have a lot of them-I like dresses more...

Thanks! So it is just a blouse with a soft bow at the neck-I even have a blouse like that-an off-white one-but I’ve never heard it called a pussy bow blouse...

Just wanted to note that I had the first bit of frost on my car this morning. That wasn’t so bad, but the windshield was all fogged up on the inside. So I had no choice but to let the defroster do its thing.

It was 38 degrees this morning. Started the furnace up last night.

It was 47 here-but it was 84 by sundown-there is one more warm spell on the way this week-mid-to-high 80’s with nights just below 70 after tomorrow, and into the week after-but down to 50 tonight-I love cool nights...

Making a dilatory appearance now. I had oral surgery this morning and am grateful to be off work tomorrow. Dreading the three 12 hour shifts that follow, though. I thought Trump handled himself well last night and loved that he brought Bill’s victims along so the media could not continue to ignore them.
