Just read that the 49rs are starting Colon Kaepernick against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
While I am a Dallas Cowboys fan living here in TX, I was once a season ticket holding Buffalo Bills fan during the Jim Kelly days back in NYS. It would bring me great pleasure to see the Bills - in their Red, White, and Blue uniforms, welcome Mr. I Hate America back to the NFL! Go BILLS!
It’s been many years since I missed, at least the following, of a “Colts” game. I haven’t watched the last 3. I checked the scores afterwards.
I am in that crowd that is souring over the NFL. When they were “ALL ABOUT PROFIT”, I was fine with the product. I didn’t like it, but gave them a pass on the dumb stuff like painting the country pink for breast cancer (and apparel sales). The throwback uniforms are stupid but they get to market and sell more apparel. The advertising has gotten WAY out of control. I could look past all of it. Sure, I started recording the games a few years ago so I could fast forward through the 2 hours of commercials. I still looked forward to watching my team play, regardless of how bad they were.
But now the NFL is All ABOUT PROFIT except politics.
Entertainment in ALL forms is the equivalent of my own personal jester. I choose what distracts me as I wish and on my time. Those rich athletes, thespians and entertainers that are broadcast liberally in every media outlet at all times of the day exist to distract me (all audiences really) from an important contribution to our God and our nation. And I pay for the convenience of having that distraction at my whim (Cable, Internet, movies, theater, sporting events, etc.). When my intended distraction introduces that which I have chosen to be distracted from, it is no longer “entertaining” to me. So I dismiss that jester in search of another whim of my choosing. In the case of the NFL, count the athletes as teams of talented jesters provided by the same company.
In short, I lose interest and choose something different when I have to consider politics to be entertained or distracted. I have the power to dismiss them. They don’t produce anything that I NEED. Therefore, they won’t work for me anymore.
That should be everbody’s attitude toward celebrities. Let them earn your respect, time and money. ;o)
I don't know who would be stupid enough to buy a Steelers throwback jersey?
I do not want Kapernick to play...as a 49ers fan I say this. If he is injured, the niners are on the hook for millions. They should keep him on the bench and get rid of him at the end of the season....
I hope the Bill’s win the game and break the SOB’s back so he can never stand for anything ever again. F**K the 49ers and Kaeperdick.
“They had a nice trip to Foxboro last week.”
Well, when you are playing the third string, it should be a nice trip. Unless you REALLY suck. Blow out too, wasn’t it?
Hmmmmph.
Trump should offer $1000 to charity for every time he gets sacked.
There’s talk of a boycott but if you know Bills ans, they will be there.
I live on Grand Island.
We can hope that it is the lowest rated football game of the century.
If I was still following the NFL I would be rooting for them too, but I’m not. This ex Bills fan went to the first game they ever played in the AFL, but I love my country more than football.
You should be able to gauge the number of stupid people by how popular the Jerseys are in 3rd world countries 3 to 5 years after they hit the US markets. I haven't seen footage of 12 year old in Rwandans playing soccer with a chicken while wearing throwback Steelers jersey yet. So who knows.
The Bills beat the Patriots and the Rams, please let them slaughter the 49ers and embarrass Krapernick.
I won’t be watching, but my wife’s best friend is a long time Bills fan so I’m sure to get updates.
Maybe the 49ers could trade him for a North Korean Kicker from the soccer league.
The Chuck Bednarik hit on Frank Gifford comes to mind.
They DID make it to Foxboro this year already. Hung a goose egg on the Pats, if I recall.
“They DID make it to Foxboro this year already. Hung a goose egg on the Pats, if I recall.”
True. The third string was ashamed. But considering it has been more than 20 years that has happened, I guess we’ll have to use the Varsity next time. Hated to lose that streak. It is the first time the Patriots were shutout at home since losing 6-0 to the New York Jets on Nov. 28, 1993. Bitter defeat. Bwahahahahahaha. Nice win. But hey, it WAS a win, so you got bragging rights.
We can only hope that they well end his career during that game.
They won’t make the playoffs... haven’t in 16 years
They will find a way to blow it... they always do.
Stuffing all that hair in the helmet could be dangerous to surrounding players. All that HPSI (hair pressure per square inch) could cause a blow out, sending helmet shrapnel everywhere.
