The East Germans brought down Communism with no weapons or army. Tens of thousands of them simply sat in the streets and refused to work. A government can’t exist without feeding off its people. The Declaration calls it “the consent of the governed.” If the despots kill everyone, who will they feed off then....truly a lose/lose situation. However, it takes a people with courage for such resistance,and there’s the rub.
