What Our Sons Are Learning From Donald Trump
New York Times ^ | 10/18/16 | Claire Cain Miller

Throughout his campaign, Donald J. Trump has displayed a particular type of hyper masculinity — the man who is proud not to apologize and to have never changed a diaper; who views “loser” as the ultimate insult; who bonds with other men by objectifying women.

It’s especially striking because today’s schools and workplaces try to value something different: empathy, impulse control and collaboration. For three decades, jobs that require these social skills have grown much more than others, researchers have found. They say one reason that boys are more likely than girls to get in trouble in school and are less likely to graduate is that a narrow definition of masculinity can stunt their ability to develop these skills.

If there is a silver lining to Mr. Trump’s views on manliness, it’s that it has prompted a national discussion about the “boys will be boys” excuse for things like bullying, boasting or appraising women in crassly sexual terms. That has offered an opportunity for parents and teachers to make clear what behavior is unacceptable. Michelle Obama, in an emotional speech on Thursday, asked what message Mr. Trump’s words and behavior sent not just to girls, but also to men and boys.

My son was once hit by a girl his age, and her parents laughed. Later, when she did it again, and after my instructions, he hit her back. Her parents were shocked, SHOCKED that he would do that, and the girl never hit him again.

Of course when it comes to “muslims will be muslims” excuse, the MSM squelches the “national discussion” that should be arising about the chauvinistic PIGS that Obama is wanting to import by the hundreds of thousands from the middle east...

Well, Miss Claire Miller of the New York Times, what are they learning from Bill and Hill?

They are learning earlier in life now that Pussy does not really mean a Kitty Cat.

Just ridiculous!

As a mother of three, two of them are boys, I see NO difference in their behavior than I did in the past.

Parenting starts at home and it is OUR job to teach our children how to behave towards others.

Nice try by the author to deflect parental responsibility!

Oh, BTW..Mr. Trump DID apologize for his words several times.

The thing I am learning from all of this is that Leviticus 20 was sound advice and that you don’t let liberals breed.

We are so done. If The Old Slag wins it is absolutely game over for America. The American people can not tolerate this constant division between the races and groups at each other, the economy can not continue to limp along for four more years at a measly 1.2%. Putin's looking to start world wide trouble because he rightly senses that we're weak and we are. The military has been depleted and Hillary will continue to erode it further. Any moron or devious commie bastard who votes for this bitch won't have to worry about their kids or grandkids future because if the skank gets in there is NO future.

Gee my comment on NYT was pending but now gone.

“You let them watch politics and news? BTW, what do they think of the BLM protesters? Oh, make sure you let them see the new Project Veritas video showing the DNC operatives that caused the Chicago Trump rally protest. You know, the one where two police officers get injured - paid for by the DNC/Clinton campaign.”

‘...“Don’t worry, I am sure a President Clinton will have our backs — just like in Benghazi.”’

Good retort. Also, perhaps they should consider who the current CnC and First Lady invite to perform at OUR White House. Songs of Rap ‘artists’ often contain vulgar language and words demeaning to women. Also, what of Beyoncé’s attire...or lack thereof...and her ‘dance moves’? Are these good role models for young people?
