That shape is actually fairly common. For example, the storm over the “north poll” of Uranus is hexagonal. Also just look at a bee colony.

It’s a very effificnet shape and shoes up all the time in nature.

I was thinking of how snow flakes are 6 sided and given the high altitude of the clouds involved, and wondering if the hexagaonal lattice works are formed that way related to the frozen water in such high clouds.(huge snow flake effect?)
