Father, while born in Ukrraine, lived most of his life in France and CK’s mother was from French-speaking Belgium. The family moved from NYC to Montreal when CK was a child because his parents were more comfortable in a French-speaking community.
Orthodox Jews like his family, while certainly more conservative politically, are somewhat indifferent to Savage’s ‘borders, language and culture’.
