There is no way a leader like Negan would allow Rick to live. It’s beyond stupid.
That’s what I said too. The first thing dictators do is kill anyone who might have the guts and followers to oppose them.
The only reason to do it this way is to show that Negan has a need to “play power games” with a worthy opponent, and that need outweighs any intelligence he might have.
