Care to share the source of that essay?

Although I never read the book, in the early 60s, a young co-worker encouraged me to read what might be its source.

The nature of the language suggests it was written 50-100 years ago.

The co-worker and his father were socialist-communists, and the name of the book was a variant of "The Federal Reserve System."

It's Andrew Jackson's farewell address. It's worth reading more than once or twice IMO.

We’re just getting it cleaned out. Don’t let the 10% establishment RINOs run you out. Let the be the Democrats they are - vote them out.

Anyone say that with a Freeper history of more than 10 years?

I can.
When I first was able to vote, I registered as a Dem.

Since then, many decades ago, I have been functionally an independent.

I have enjoyed many an election since 1960...

Oh, I went no-party-pref last year because I thought (a) the party, especially here in California, was hapless at best and (b) I saw another [bleep]show coming this election cycle after 2008 and 2012 and so I said “let’s detach for a while and see what happens”. The party lived down to my expectations and beyond (to where in some cases I’ve gone past “you’re hapless” to “more than shame on you, you’re on the other side!”). I was unpleasantly surprised to see a lot of the conservative movement follow the same path. And oddly enough, the guy I thought was potentially the biggest fiasco in the bunch wasn’t.

Burn your registration card in front of local GOP headquarters. Or take care to HQ and tear it up in front of them.

I didn’t say I wouldn’t support the Republican. I want the Party to know that they cannot take us for granted. If John McCain can vote his conscience, so can I. I will not give money and I will not give my time. A political party is a coalition to win elections. THAT IS ALL. If, as some GOP leaders have said, it is every man and woman for themselves, then why even have a political party. They will just have to work harder for our votes. That’s all this means.

Since I am the 1st Vice Chair of the Party, I’d have to do it in front of myself. We have a great Party here, but I believe most, like me, will be leaving. I pray to God Donald Trump pulls this out and we can drain the swamp, hit the reset button and save our Democracy..

The GOP will cease to exist on November 9th. JMO but I believe I’m right. Almost every endorsement The Clintoon is flaunting and shoving in the faces of Americans came from “republican” TV boobleheads, “republican” newspapers and old “republican” politicians. Believe me, any “republican” who would vote for this corrupt Marxist biotch is not a Republican and never has been a Republican. They’ve always been just another cog in the District of Corruption establishment machine. It’s the politicians against the people and it has always been that way.

Why not? Trump will eliminate debt by end of 2nd term

LOL!
I know, it seems to make no sense, since I don't think that's possible, but I am voting for Trump anyway.

Not possible, not without bankrupting half of the middle class. But it IS possible to reverse deficit spending, reduce unnecessary agencies and regulations, get rid of bureaucratic deadwood, and condition continued public employment on performance. permanently outlaw public "service" unions. This is specially critical in the unionized teaching industry.

90% of activist teachers I hear speak I wouldn't allow to teach my cats.

Bottom line, if Trumps makes a serious attempt to address all those problems, he will have accomplished something.

I’ll wait and see what effect the Trump win has on the GOP. If they fight them more than the did obama, then I’m done. I won’t leave it until there is a viable conservative 3rd party, because until there is, the only way to get some of our candidates elected is if we can vote in the primaries.

I hear Costa Rica is rather nice.

Natural beauty? Absolutely.
Living Conditions? Acceptable if you accept 15% of the country as"First world," and the other 85% third world.

Consider that the capital's sewer system is 60% ill-maintained septic systems, and there is no such thing as regular trash pickups.

Lack of addresses in the capital is also a minor irritation.

But the natural beauty is spectacular.

So we conservatives should leave and then complain about the nominee? If we stayed it would be our choice!

Lady: Mr. Franklin, What kind of government do we have?

Franklin: A republic, if you can keep it.

As “1st Vice Chair of the Party” and not know that we have a republic, NOT a “Democracy”, tells a lot about why the GOP is so united with the Democrats.
