Played at weddings, funerals, Olympic ceremonies and even the annual New Years Eve celebrations in Times Square, John Lennons song Imagine has been the all-purpose anthem of sentimentality for 45 years.
But if youre one of those people who secretly hates it, dont worry youre not the only one.
Last weekend, British music fan Edward Carter and some friends were casually discussing songs they hated when he decided to extend the conversation to social media.

No Free Bird!?
Dude, you can officially never be a teenager again. I'm sorry, but that's it.
Yup! ;o)
The question answers itself
The only time I find myself singing that song is when I move. Packing up into boxes makes you imagine you had no possessions. Otherwise, it sucks big time.
Look, no one wants to even share their cell phone with even ONE OTHER PERSON. Sharing is not natural. Sorry.
I start searching for the remote control when I hear the “Under Pressure” lick starting. Ironically, 1% of the time I am pleasantly surprised when “Yo VIP, let’s kick it” comes out.
The worst song of all time is Under Pressure by David Bowie and Queen
“He’s White White, Baby.....”

If you play Can You Hear Me Knocking by the Stones, you can reach Mars, return, and be glad you went.
Seriously? Now THAT is funny. Wash down your best friend wth a fruity tropical drink!
Well, he did live in New York City in the 70s. The tax rates then were extraordinarily high; he would have paid New York City, New York State, and Federal tax, probably well north of 50%.
He also bought all the cops in New York City bulletproof vests when the city was broke and couldn’t afford it. That’s part of the reason the cops made such an heroic effort to keep him alive when he was shot.
A silly one for sure.
Yup - the instrumental duet by Chet Atkins and Mark Knopfler is remarkable. I've never listened to Lennon's original all the way through without switching the radio off or changing the channel.
I can’t stand any Beatles music.
“You’re in the right neighborhood. THIS is the worst “song” of all time.”

Absolutely. Back when it was at the top of the charts, people weren't satisfied hearing it on the radio every few minutes and would put good money into the jukebox at the local pizza place to hear it again, and again, ...
Probably.
In order to get the stench of the nihilism of that song off our minds, here is a link to a short radio clip of Al Jolson exhorting the audience to buy war bonds in 1943, and then singing “There’ll Never Be Another Way”:

That’s crazy. No accounting for taste, I guess.
It was the 70s.
