lol. Into the heavier stuff or a different genre?

I grew up with Zep, Deep Purple and Queen, among others, listening to the records my older brother bought.

Favorite band of all time. They were at their peak in the early 80’s when I graduated from high school. I am so glad I like a band who’s music was all positive, never give up type of music. If you think about Blue Collar Man, Fooling Yourself, Babe, Lady, and just a whole host of songs there message is all positive. Love me some Styx ... !

I was never a Styx fan though the lead singer married well

A very pretty Band Aid

I’ve been married to a Band Aid 20 years now

Some make good wives

I got mine post band marriage

the genius of that group, welding hard rock ballads with classical flair. Very few bands like them especially today. One of my favorite songs. “Castle Walls” also a haunting favorite. thanks

“How I hated that band.”

In the old neighborhood, Styx was referred to as ‘Wuss Rock’

Trying to duplicate it was the problem. Same thing did in REO Speedwagon.

I use the songs instrumental opening as my ring-tones. The “chimes” sound OK on a cell-phone size speaker and it is the opposite of obnoxious to other people present. Take another listen and you’ll see what I mean,

“beginning of the end of Styx with Dennis DeYoung as the leader singer”

Yep james Young is quoted as saying that Styx doesn’t do “show tunes”. They dropped denny when he had a problem with going back on the road a few years ago, a lawsuit ensued because they were going on without him and the judge said too bad. They are still touring to this day.
