I think they mean it in the sense of a depot, like an Ammo Dump is a place to store ammo.
But is conflating in that emails can be ‘dumped’ as in let out to be distributed.
Yes....I’ve heard statisticians use the term “data dump.”
It is a report, full of tables and statistics, with no meaningful analysis.
“75% of the type A’s were happy, but only 24% of the happy respondents were type A.”
To “take a dump” means to share the fruits of your labor with the public. That’s pretty close for the `rats.
It is common to do “data dumps” in the various IT fields. Which means extracting and transferring data.
Now, is this what Podesta was saying? NOT A CHANCE! He meant delete, straight up.
