11 am had to go to the studio with the "mouse" on it. Damn traffic. Meeting with a dyke who hates men but she's on the production budget department so I have to go through her, and her more neurotic VP.
I will change the words as there are biz people who read FR.
I walk in the door and she says "I cant do this today."
ME: "Why not? We already have the spec scripts and we dont want to pay these guys again for new pages. You made the appointment, not us."
HER: "because that F****** Trump won."
ME: "That's unprofessional. We don't care about politics. Our time is money too etc blah blah"
HER: (looks down)
ME: (controlling my urge not to laugh at this b*tch but I took acting lessons too) We will re-schedule. That's alright. The day is going great..

I walked into three conversations today where these folks were afraid. Like really afraid.
It was insane. I am a conservative in MA. Maybe I am just used to being disappointed.
It’s not every day America’s Ex-Wife gets sent packing.
I’ve been thinking about what I’m going to have to say to a couple of snowflakes I know if this comes up, and I think I’ve decided upon:
“I wasn’t at all happy with how the last couple of elections turned out. And do you know what I did about it? I put on my pants and went to work.”
They believe their own propaganda. They think Trump is going to Hitlerfy America. Hillary on the other hand, really would have done so.
She already has a history of abusing government power. Travelgate, FileGate, and getting that video maker arrested for Benghazi. She's known to have towering rage fits and is abusive to her secret service agents.
We dodged a bullet. Your liberal friends never were in any kind of similar danger.

I am working with a guy pitching a couple of shows and he said (and I agree) it will be even harder for conservatives and there will be a blacklist more than ever and to keep very quiet.

Really afraid? Strange....these same people probably were not afraid when Christians were being persecuted over gay/abortion issues and when the government was used to CRAM liberal social issues down the throats of Americans. I bet they weren’t afraid of that at all.
Yep. I was just saying that last night. Their lives won’t change a lick because of this election. Our entire American way of life would have changed had it gone the other way. We got lucky with Obama. He traded lib for lib on the Court. Ain’t gonna be that way this time.
To a point, then it will flip. What Rats can't comprehend is that conservative policies actually work. They lie so much they think everything is a lie and no politics are anything but a factional power grab. The idea that Trump is speaking the truth, that the country will rise in wealth and freedom and happiness and power, for real, never even occurs to them.
So yes, until it actually happens and they join it of their own free will, they will stay in the shadows and the dark with their poisoned knives. Because it's all they know.

I feel your pain - lived my whole life in a blue city known for 535 felons, except college/grad school in Cambridge, MA. I can handle friends who disagree with me. Some of these people have never left their bubbles. I’ve had people tell me “until I met you, I never knew a Republican can be nice”, and they feel proud of themselves, as if they have made some huge psychological breakthrough. I learned early to be tactful, and not to walk into a room of people I don’t know and spout political opinions as if everyone agreed with me.
But they are so tolerant...
There is no “I” in denial.
Ditto with me on a film project.
Post NOTHING on social media. Family or friends might ‘out’ you if you post something liberal to deceive. Liberals will blackball you if you post anything conservative.
Go along with the conversation. I do that with producers, “Damn Republicans!” “Yeah what are they thinking?” Avoid arguments. They really want to keep the echo chamber strong.
Give people their space right now. I was mad and depressed for a MONTH after Obama won and then, God knows why, was re-elected despite 4 years of failure.
The melts have been epic. Never seen libs like this. They actually BELIEVE the b.s. about Trump jailing gays or doing God knows what. They invented him as Hitler and now have genuine fear.
The MSM is contributing to an unhealthy and dangerous environment.
I had to learn the hard way to change more than a few words.

I was talking to my daughter ( I have a liberal one and a conservative one) last night. She was concerned about being on our insurance (she is 23.) And she and her friends were afraid they were going to lose their access to free birth control.
I finally said, “These ‘women’s issues’ are nothing other than your wanting the government to pay so that you can have sex whenever and with whomever you want with absolutely no consequences. Why is it up to our neighbors to provide YOU with that ability. Isn’t that YOUR responsibility?”
She told me I was being some kind of phobic.
