No, that was Robert Loggia."Could you spell that?"
"Sure. 'R' is for 'Robert Loggia'... 'O' is for 'Oh my God, it's Robert Loggia'...

RIP
Sad news. MFU was a favorite show when I was a kid. When the show came back recently on nostalgia TV, I realized it was about a global police force run by the United Nations with the leadership being from India and the UK. Kind of ruined it for me.

If memory serves, he had an earned Ph. D. in Poly Sci.

M.F.U was a big show for us kids although McCallum was my favorite.
Vaughn was on many TV shows in the late 50s such as 'The Rifleman' but I was disappointed when he announced at the height of his career he never wanted to be in another show where there was a gun in it.

He played a gun fighter who had lost his nerve.
And reprised the exact same role in Battle Beyond the Stars. Which really wasn't as awful as it could have been.

Eli Wallach as Tuco was magnificent. He never shut up he was perfect matched with Clint and Lee van Cleef..
I think this is one of the best movies ever made.

Yes, Patrick is gone. I never realized he became a US citizen in 1959 until I read his obit.

What people tend to forget was the MFU was always intended to be a sendup of the secret agent genre.

Get Smart was the sendup, and MFU maybe took itself a little too seriously. Not as seriously as Mission: Impossible, though.

Had a big crush on Ilya Kuriyakin! LOL.
A bunch of kids in my neighborhood got walkie-talkies one Christmas. (Back when neighbors talked to neighbors.) We used them to play Man From UNCLE.
Vaughan was also on the British show “Hustle”. Very good.
(If they ever do a black James Bond I hope it is the guy from Hustle, Adrian Lester. Actually I think he could do an excellent James Bond whatever color he is. Sauvé, debonair, attractive.)
