My first response is. NOTHING CHANGES UNTIL THE MONEY RUNS OUT.
Tough times have historically been the character builders for most individuals and communities, but it can go either way. American revolution vs French revolution.
Ecc 3:15 What is happening now has happened before, and what will happen in the future has happened before, because God makes the same things happen over and over again.
The above from Ecclesiastes does give some broader perspective. But be sure to read the END (last few sentences) of the book for “the preachers” final conclusions.
They get especially crazy when you point out that they, personally live CONSERVATIVE lives and principles.. like going to work, not doing drugs, giving their kids curfews, expecting DECENT behavior out of their kids, paying their own bills, not racking up household debt, etc...etc...
I have liberal inlaws. Oh my... they even own a lot of guns...!!! But they were raised to believe that democrats are for the “little guy”... that FDR was more pure than Jesus Christ. Nothing will ever change their minds.

I do something similar. In my state we have had for many years the option of paying income tax at a higher rate. I always ask them if they do that. Either angry silence or angry outburst follows.
Eliminate any discussions about political FIGURES and focus instead on political and moral PRINCIPLES. Even most liberals live their lives in a way that is pretty conservative — at least in economic terms.
Acts 16:31 Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved, you and your household.
The question is, what are some good ways, even if it is only a matter of planting seeds,
1) Get copies of Colombo and watch all the episodes until you know them by heart.
2) Practice the Colombo technique. Keep asking dumb question of liberals for them to explain things to you.
The down side to this is that it takes at least an hour according to the tv show for this to work and I have better things to do..........................
There are several things.
One is to point out the lies and inconsistencies in the liberal agenda, whether it be “you can keep your doctor”, or about wars, govt. spending, etc. They are hypocrites, and some know it and see it, especially this election.
Another is dealing with government. Anyone who’s had to deal with a few different federal agencies tends to get jaded.
Another is to ask what libs have done for them. Look at Detroit. It looks like it was carpet bombed. Unlike Dresden or Hiroshima, nobody is rebuilding Detroit. The people there are Dems, and they’ve been voting Dems into local office for at least 50 years. They keep making the same mistakes over and over again, expecting different results. Point this out.
Point out the corruption and hypocrisy in the DNC and Clinton’s people, these are poster children for what corrupt politicians look like.
When people’s lives are affected, they tend to reassess themselves politically. Anybody who’s lost something, or is being encroached on by government rules and regs.
Anybody who is tired of the SJWs, BLM and political correctness. This stuff has gone way too far, and a lot of people out there know that, but are afraid to say it out loud.
Just some thoughts.
“The trouble with our liberal friends isn’t that they’re ignornant, but that they know so much that isn’t so.”
- Ronaldus Magnus I
“There are two ways to be fooled: One is to believe what isn’t true, the other is to refuse to accept what is true.”
- Soren Kierkegaard
You don’t. You cannot reason someone out of a position that they probably weren’t reasoned into in the first place.
True...
Nor do I. Exposing a liberal to logic, common sense and even their own hypocrisy only results in them resorting to an negative emotional response which relieves them from having to deal with the arguments.
I have a over the top liberal brother who has never really accomplished anything in his life. He is resentful and dismissive of everything that I have done in my live (so much for nonjudgmental). At family gatherings, he goes out of his way to be arrogant, provocative and smug. It drives him crazy that I will not bite. I will not waste my time. Plus there are plenty of other family members for me to enjoy.
It depends on the body mass of the liberal.
For a Gersh, a spitwad would probably do the trick. A Klugman or a Dionne might require a .22. Larger or more vicious varieties would require that you up-gun, until you reach the Michael Moore/Rosie O’Donnell class, which requires artillery.
Or were you talking about something else?
Don’t waste your time.
You don’t.
One way is through libertarianism, because that is still “cool”, and you will see many former liberals call themselves Libertarians in order to avoid the hate directed towards Conservatives. Eventually, many of these libertarians will find there way to conservativism. That’s what happened to me.
You have to have an Islamist remove their eds with a dull knife.
How do you convert a liberal?
Acts 16:31 Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved, you and your household.
Joh_21:17 A third time He asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, You know everything. You know that I love You.” Jesus said, “Then feed My sheep.
Who are the sheep? Most don’t like to hear this because “that’s not fair”. The sheep are God’s chosen.
Jesus sent his disciples out with the cold hard message, “repent and turn to God for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.” If they don’t like the message, shake the dust from you feet and move on. If they hear the message, stay awhile.......
But what do we do? We try to make sheep out of goats. Ain’t going to happen.
So what is the application? You will have to talk to 99 goats before you find a sheep. I find taking to goats a grievous process...............................
Spot on. There is no reasoned path to liberalism. You have to accept the lie and rationalize your choice through blind acceptance.
And don’t forget Hayek
