I just got an email from a former colleague/friend who works in a diff ofc now. he is a lib, NYC jewish, etc. but we managed to have a respectful friendship. He is terrified and they are considering leaving the country or at least moving far from DC. I am really shocked. I am asking in a kind way exactly what he fears Trump doing, but he does consider him to be a deranged lunatic. The divide is wide and deep in this country. We could be from different planets, for all intents and purposes.

I'm coming around to Scott Adams take that there is no such thing as objective reality but if there was we wouldn't see it as it's not part of our evolutionary advantage to see it, so we don't. We all live in our own worlds of confirmation bias.
