Actor Michael Shannon held nothing back about the 2016 presidential election and President-elect Donald Trump while promoting his new film "Nocturnal Animals" in a new interview with Rogerebert.com.
When asked whether he could make sense of how exactly Trump was elected, Shannon had a vitriolic response about Trump's supporters.
"Yeah, I'll tell you how to make sense of it: This country's filled with ignorant jackasses," he said. "The big red dildo running through the middle of our country needs to be annexed to be its own country of moronic a--holes. You can call it the United States of Moronic F---ing A--holes."

Let’s be honest, we say the same thing about democrats, just think of how many voted for Hillary, it’a astounding how stupid they are. The only thing is we are right and they are wrong, and at the end of Trump’s 8 years it will be proven.

I just hate when actors do this. Hundreds of professionals devoted months of their lives to make his movie a success. Most of them are off camera. Make-up artists, set designers, carpenters, camera operators, etc. All proud professionals. And he goes ahead and sabotages their hard work so he can spout his totally un-original thoughts. It’s not just dumb, it’s cruel. I’m not in the business but I’ll bet it’s easier to get the next job if your last job was a success. And there he goes making it harder for people who only want to feed their families to get work.
How in hell did that face, only his mother can tolerate, get involved in Hollywood. Homely.
