I remember that movie (3 Women). It came out around the same time Lily Tomlin starred in a movie with John Travolta. That movie was bashed by critics as unconvincing. I thought it was kind of nice.

The movie 3 Women was full of all manner of little quirks. One thing I recall was everytime the three ladies drove away in a car, the scene showed the car moving away, doors closed and from the bottom of the driver’s door, a fluffy hem of somebody’d dress was caught in the door. The hem of the driver’s dress was left to flutter and quiver in the breeze as the car sailed down the street. Why the director wanted that left in, who knows.

Interesting. I don’t remember that. The image that I remember is Sissy Spacek’s character turning from a mouse into a monster of sorts, chewing bubble gum and relishing firing that gun.

Criterion issued it in a Blu-Ray, so I’d like to see it again someday. Same with NASHVILLE. Altman made some interesting movies.
