Odd just heard a radio report (in Texas) about someone in NYC acting up related to Hamilton and racist comments. Like he got kicked out of the theater for interrupting the show.
Vicinity of the theater?
And not everything makes the blotter in a way that is tracked. When I was the victim of armed robbery on the sidewalk, I immediately filed a report to a police officer (2 different ones actually, both involved in a DWI task force; the first got the hell out of the area, the second took my statement but it wasn’t until much much later, years, that I noticed he omitted the ARMED detail in my sheet so when I was searching for incidents of violent crime in my neighborhood, it never ever appeared).
The police know what happened, they pulled up shop on their “task force” for 6 months after that, no sense in risking pulling over an armed criminal when you’ve got a ticket task force revenue thing going.
I had a very similar experience just a few days ago. A woman in Portland OR posted on facebook about a hate crime. A "white man" had grabbed a gay flag from a store and burned it. When he was confronted he knocked a woman down and beat a man - and then ran off (lol).
I feigned ignorance and asked why weren't they reporting it to the police, that he could strike again. She said the police were "on it" and the local paper was "on it."
I checked the PPD twitter and FB pages, and their web site. Nothing. I contacted the paper. They wrote back immediately and asked who to contact. They had heard nothing about it and were very concerned.
Needless to say, it's all made up. People were urging her to report it to SPLC, which she did of course. It was also shared over a hundred times! And those 100 people probably shared it. These stories get around so fast. It makes me sick.
