FULL TITLE: Black Friday madness: Two people are killed outside a Macy's and a Walmart while customers fight over everything from TVs to $1.60 towels as stores open their doors for record $3.1 billion holiday splurge

Two people were shot dead and two others were injured in three separate incidents in New Jersey, Nevada and Tennessee as Black Friday shopping kicked off.

A man was fatally shot and his brother was wounded in a shooting outside of a Macy's in New Jersey on Friday morning while another was shot dead in an apparent road rage incident in a Walmart parking lot in Nevada on Thursday.

A fourth person suffered a gunshot wound on Thursday at a mall in Tennessee as shoppers were taking part in early Black Friday sales.

The shooting outside the Macy's department store occurred around 1am on Friday at the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing as people lined up outside the mall for door-buster deals.

A 20-year-old Atlantic City man was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene while his 26-year-old brother, from Clayton, was shot in the leg and listed in stable condition at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.

Officials did not immediately say what sparked the shooting or if they had any suspects.

I think she means that because people are more than likely shopping for Christmas gifts, black Friday becomes really disgusting because of the violence.

“I didn’t realize Black Friday was homage to the birth of Christ. Is this in the Bible somewhere? “

Don’t be stupid you know these people are buying this for Christmas day. Expensive gifts or the “right one” is not what that day is about. This is sickening. It’s about celebrating the fact Jesus was born of Mary and came to save us of our sin. Not that we got some stupid TV or video game that in six months time will be obsolete.

Thank you! Why else do you think these people are making fools of themselves? Yea some of that is for them but mostly it’s for Christmas. That is not what Christmas is about.

Black Friday appears to be the cultural opposite of Good Friday.

I just dont get the mentality of Black Friday madness. Lining up outside of a store hours before it opens and then fighting over merchandise to save a few bucks on stuff as if one’s life depended on it. Utterly Moronic..

We are twisted, but the hubby and I sometimes get up and go out early on Black Friday just to heckle the dopes that get in line at midnight with their sleeping bags to get the deals and other assorted idiots.

Why I am reminded of “Saving Private Ryan” during the final run in to Dog Green with the photo of the manager of Best Buy giving his employees a final pep talk

Best Buy Manager to employees:
“CLEAR THE AISLES! THIRTY SECONDS! GOD BE WITH YA!”
“Keep the sand out of your scanners. Keep those actions clear. I'll see you on the beach.”

I suspect this has more to do with gang violence than Black Friday shopping.

I live about 15 miles from the mall in South Jersey. There have been a number of gang hits involving chases down the highways of late in the PLeasantville, Atlantic City region.

You got to thin the herd some how. If this is how you act - we don’t need you on the planet.

The first several 'stories' on the local noon news were: shooting, shooting, shooting, shooting, Florence Henderson dies, bombing, Dylann Roof judged competent, shooting, shooting.

Let's be real careful out there.

Participating in this popular madness seems directly contrary to any reasonable notion of the good life.
