I actually think Luntz is pretty smart. His flaw is that he obviously has too much faith in his polling data, but then you can say the same thing about almost anyone in the media.

If you want to see him at his best, just watch him AFTER the election results are known. I though his analysis of the 2016 election the following morning -- when he freely admitted that his predictions were wrong -- was a very good assessment of what the voters were thinking when they sent Trump to the White House.
