Alabama will play Washington and Ohio State is set to face Clemson in the College Football Playoff semifinals.

The selection committee stayed with the same top four Sunday as it had going into championship weekend, leaving out No. 5 Penn State even though the Nittany Lions won the Big Ten title game and beat Ohio State earlier in the season.

Penn State’s fans are the ones who don’t deserve anything good ever. Disgusting human beings.

Most conferences have 4 or 5 weak teams that the SEC doesn’t have. You expect 7 or 8 SEC teams to be ranked each year. What other conference does that?

Alabama beat 8 ranked teams this year. Did any other team do that?

Overachieved? AL was the number 1 team then just like this season. As a matter of fact the SEC is in an even worse place (kind of like the democrat party) than it was 2 years ago, with 4 loss Auburn being the second highest ranked SEC team this season. Not to mention AL’s best win came against a 3 loss team. In any event the games will be decided on the field. Alabama and Ohio State would be a great matchup for the championship game.

You may be right, but bear in mind that Alabama dominated USC just as USC dominated the Huskies. I think it depends on which Alabama team shows up to play. Even though I don’t think the Huskies as a team are as good as you think they are this year, their coach looks like he is building a program that will be first rate.

Yes he is. Look what he did at small Boise State. Alabama will likely still prevail but it will be less than the 14 point spread.

Also the USC team that Bama stomped was a far different team that upset the Huskies. USC missed several starters with injuries before Bama game that were back and healthy for the Husky game as well as a QB change.

Had Bama faced this USC team, the game would have been far closer!

Notre Dame, lol. I daresay that Chattanooga could beat this year’s dreadful Notre Dame team. I’m serious.

LOL. I’m not surprised a Bama fan would disparage ND while playing Chattanooga in November. You should be embarrassed. Mighty Bama with a stacked roster and NFL level support staff needs an extra bye week? Hilarious.

Sorry, you have confirmation bias. Somebody has got to be ranked. The SEC butters everybody’s bread so they get the rankings.

Bear in mind that Alabama is much better now, too. The true freshman qb has gone far up the learning curve. I think Washington could win the game if it plays at 110% of its talent level, with Browning having his best day yet, and Alabama has an off day or Hurts is injured (no qb depth at Alabama).

Disagree. You’re buying too much SEC propaganda. You can play the “this team beat that team” game all day. Bottom line is the SEC is the only league playing fewer games and scheduling body bag games in November. That is a huge competitive advantage there.

Same thing happens with college hoops. Power schools won't play better mid-majors, as their RPI is based on their conference play.

No doubt that schools like St. Mary's and Gonzaga would have less gaudier records if they played in tougher conferences, but they'd have a better chance at getting into the tournament, thanks to a higher RPI.

My beef with the WCC is there are apparently no strings attached to the individual school's share of NCAA tournament money, primarily courtesy of Gonzaga's recent tournament record. We've won our first round game for 8 years in a row, and each school is getting over $200K a year from that.

From my perch, it doesn't appear that those monies are not going into the basketball programs.

Apologies for getting off the topic.

If you had to endure watching our crummy offense ever since Urban left Gainesville, you’d be bitter, too.

Wrong again. Check the rankings, year in and year out. Nobody pads those! Come on. You know better than that. If you don’t, please don’t respond. You waste my time.

Yeah, I did check the rankings. Look at #13 LSU when the played Bama:

vs WIS L16-14
vs JVST W34-13
vs MSST W23-20
@ AUB L18-13
vs MIZ W42-7
@ 18 FLA PPD
vs USM W45-10
vs 23 MISS W38-21

You going to tell me Minnesota or Washington State would be #13 with those results? Not a chance. SEC gets the rankings because that is where the interest and money is. Not because the league is vastly superior to everybody else.

The B10 needs to update their tie-breaking rules so a two loss team doesn't jump in front of a one loss team because of the (over simplified) head to head rule. B10 should use the same criteria for their championship game as the National Committee used in picking the top 4 teams for the playoff. Ohio State with 1 loss should have played Wisconsin for the B10 Championship. BTW: The overhead view shows JT made the yellow line before flying backwards = First Down

“As a Washington fan, I look forward to playing a great Alabama team.”

Should be a great game. I can’t wait.

I'll start trash-talking in a couple of weeks :-)

Just stating facts. Sorry you can’t handle the facts.

I guess, in your opinion, ND was a great team this year? Now, that’s hilarious. They lost to DUKE at home.

Just curious, what team do you pull for?

How ironic. A BUCKEYE fan calling another fan base arrogant. Oh, the irony. Especially from a fan base who calls their school THE Ohio State University. Do you not realize everyone laughs at OSU for that?

It’s arrogant of you to expect us to be trembling in fear of OSU. Sorry, we’re not. Apparently, neither was Penn State.

Bama has a 3-1 lead against you. Fact.
