Recently re read the right stuff. We’ve fallen a long way from those can do days.
I’ll revisit his former exploits to my sons but I cannot overlook his later political career. It was disappointing
I consider his orbiting the Earth to be the highwater mark of American culture and contribution. Not to say that there haven't been good stretches since then, but I consider the general trend to be downward after this.
Good riddance and may he burn in Hell.
BTW I'm amazed he is being lionized here, he was no friend of ours.
I met him once when I was in the Air Force. He was a very nice and personable man. He was also very funny. He made us all laugh at his stories. RIP Sir. Go with God.
