Ivanka Trump will reportedly have an office in an area of the White House typically reserved for the first lady after her father becomes president.
The reports come amid speculation as to what part Donald Trump’s eldest daughter will play in his administration.
Ms Trump has been an influential figure throughout the campaign and transition process, and it emerged last week that she would be taking a leave of absence from the Trump Organisation, where she is an executive vice president, and moving to Washington along with her husband Jared Kushner, who serves as one of his father-in-law’s closest advisers.
Meanwhile Melania Trump, the president-elect’s wife, will remain in New York until her ten-year-old son Barron finishes school.
Those announcements presented the possibility that Ivanka would fill in for her stepmother as first lady.
While that would be an unusual arrangement, CNN reported on Wednesday that Ms Trump will have an office in the East Wing of the White House, in an area typically reserved for the first lady.
The network attributed that report to a transition source, who added that Ms Trump’s official White House title was still to be determined.
While it remains unclear whether Ms Trump will become the de facto first lady, she is expected to continue to work closely with her father after he takes office. She sat in on Mr Trump’s meeting last month with prime minister Shinzo Abe of Japan, and is on the executive committee overseeing his transition to the presidency.

I didn't realize that. Where did you learn that? I'm not sure what to make of Jared yet. I'm not wild about Ivanka's involvement either. But I'm keep an open mind for now, let the administration start functioning and getting used to itself.

I think Trump will work it out and I’m glad he has them as his sounding boards. At least he has plenty of adult family that he can trust not to stab him in the back.
Somali's and other islamic refugees shouldn't be here. Our govt hasn't come to grips with islamic terrorism yet so until they come back to sanity we should stop all immigration from those parts of the world. Let's figure this thing out before we set ourselves up for the fall.

no doubt...Trump just absolutely punked Ryan last night and people are whining he’s going to turn liberal because Ivanka is down the hall.

He's got the liberal media to do that. People are jumping to conclusions over a CNN report. That would be the last source I would believe. Hell, they covered for Saddam Hussein. The guy hasn't even been sworn in, and some folks here are speculating that his daughter and her husband are going to run the show. Besides, he should be allowed to have some of his family near-by, especially in such an unfriendly atmosphere as Washington, D.C.
This gossiping is all ado about nothing as far as I'm concerned.
You’re missing the big issue here. If a Trump cabinet member makes a bad decision we can fight it. If his unqualified and politically unreliable kids are making the bad decisions we will never win those battles. There is a tug of war for oval office influence shaping up here and conservatives should not be sitting on the sidelines saying in Trump we trust.

It’s coming from Trump’s own lips in interviews. Chose not to listen to it if you wish but the fact is he planning a political role for Jared and Ivanka in his administration.
We complained about Hillary during the 90s.
I don't watch any news programs so how about providing some sources, videos of these interviews would be great since you can't trust anything that's in writing these days.

Exactly, Both Ethel and Rose Kennedy filled in for Jackie when she was in Europe for her vacations. Who cares, as long as the previous occupants stay gone.
In an interview with Chris Wallace, Trump said very deliberately that his family would be living with him in the WH when his son finished the school year. All the guessing and gossiping to the contrary is a waste of time.
No doubt that Melania and Barron will fly in and hang at the WH on a regular basis until that happens. It’s not like it’s far away.
Of course not. I did not know this on election night.
