Cool. The IT security for the Federal Government is still on 8-inch floppy disks.

The Fed is 75 years behind the times, and they're working 2 days a week to catch up.

Around 1980 I saw a film from the Treasury Dept. showing the printing of government checks. They explained that some of the machinery was from the 1800s but still worked well for whatever it did.

They probably have replaced it by now.

The article is total trash and an uninformed lie.

The eight inch floppies do not have anything to do with the command and control of the missiles. They are used as data dumps for the crew logs and missile status reports. They have no ability to download any form of data into the computers that control the capsule and missiles.
